My favourite press junket moments...

Welcome to day 8 of Blogmas! Counting down until the big day has never been so fun for me!
As a fan of movies, I find myself staying up until the early hours of the morning watching and re-watching anything and everything to do with movies that I can find on youtube. However, my absolute favourite thing to watch is press junkets and interviews. I do love a moment when the interview goes wrong (and I may have included one of those) but I also just love the funny moments, and these are some of my favourites.
1. Do you wear wigs?
No other moment in press junket history will ever make me laugh as much as this one does. The fact that Elijah Wood has no idea that it is Dominic Monaghan that is asking him these ridiculous questions is hilarious, but Wood’s reaction and that laugh is one of the funniest press moments I have ever seen.
I first saw this as a meme, and when I watched the full interview, the lead up is so important as Wood’s reaction is then even more funny.
“When will you wear wigs?”
2. Operation Jakey-Jakes and Ry-Ry
It is the sheer chaos for me.
Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal should never be in an interview together. The two have such powerful energy that it is so overwhelming to watch as the two spiral into madness. However, they do create some incredible press junket moments.
If I could sum up what this interview is, just imagine the two disruptive kids in school at the back of the classroom whilst the teacher tries to control the room. Not a single question was answered, well the one question they did answer was about socks. Sums it up.
3. Kevin Hart - Buffalo Wing Story
Kevin Hart’s story is great and really really funny, but what makes this interview so special is Octavia Spencer’s reaction. Her genuine laughter is so uplifting to see and watching someone of that status react to Hart’s story the same way all of us at home are reacting is really fun to see as most of the time celebrities are reserved and ‘professional’ in interviews.
4. Anthony Mackie - Baby I’m an adult.
I live for an awkward moment. And this might possibly be the most awkward moment EVER caught on camera. Anthony Mackie deals with the girls in such a clever and yet dignified way. He realises that the girls are not going to walk all over the three and say whatever they want just because they’re celebrities. It is such an iconic moment, and Sebastian Stan’s whole reaction is incredible.
“I don’t know the term friends, I know the term family. When stuff get tight, let me see where your friend at. But a grow a little bit. You will get there”. The perfect response to shut down two of the rudest people I have ever witnessed on a panel.
If anyone else is a fan of cringe and awkward moments, this one takes it. It is so uncomfortable, insulting and awkward, but INCREDIBLE.
And finally, the most iconic interviewer of all time.
5. Alison Hammond.
Now any form of press she does is ICONIC, but here are 3 of my absolute favourite Hammond moments.
1. Alison meets Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford. For obvious reasons, this has to be number one. This is potentially the first time I have ever seen Harrison Ford slightly enjoy an interview.
2. When she marries Dwayne Johnson. Props to Dwayne Johnson for going along with the craziness of Hammond, but she deserves all the credit for making these interviews so funny and different. The fact that this gag has also continued years and years later proves just how memorable she is as an interviewer.
3. Alison meets Arnold Schwarzenegger. I would argue an underrated Alison moment, but this is one of my favourites. Not only do they have a great conversation about Alison taking over the role of the Terminator, but Schwarzenegger also helps Hammond pick out bedroom curtains.
