The 14th day of Blogmas can only mean one thing... and no it's not that Christmas is 11 days away. It can only mean that Spider-Man: No Way Home is released tomorrow. In celebration of that, and the fact that I need to keep my excitement somewhat contained until tomorrow, I thought today would be a good day to look at all the new Marvel releases confirmed for 2022 and what that means for the future of the MCU.
Let's first look at confirmed MCU movies to be released in the New Year.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Release Date: May 6, 2022
Directed by: Sam Raimi
Starring: Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Rachel McAddams, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Benedict Wong.
My Predictions: Doctor Strange will be dealing with the aftermath of Spider-man and the multiverse in this movie, and I predict that we are going to find Wanda Maximoff as the villain at the start of the movie as she is finding her powers as the Scarlet Witch. However, as the movie progresses, I think a companionship between Strange and Maximoff will be formed. I may be speaking too soon however, and after seeing the new Spider-Man movie, my feelings may all change towards either character.
Thor: Love and Thunder
Release Date: July 8, 2022
Directed by: Taika Waititi
Starring: Chris Hemsworth as Thor, alongside Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale.
My Predictions: I believe the movie will begin where we left Thor and Valkyrie in Endgame, joining the Guardians of the Galaxy on their ship. Natalie Portman is going to have such a crucial role in this film, I really hope they utilise her as Jane Foster. If Thor: Ragnarok is anything to go by, this movie is going to be hilarious. I think this may be the MCU project I am looking forward to the most.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Release Date: Nov. 11, 2022
Directed by: Ryan Coogler
Starring: Daniel Kaluuya, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong'o and Michael B. Jordan.
My Predictions: This movie has to be one of the most anticipated 2022 releases, just with the terribly sad circumstances, the tribute to the King must be something special. I am really hoping that the drama surrounding the actor who played Shuri does not ruin the spectacle that is going to be this movie. I am expecting a really special film, filled with incredible emotion and pride for what this film has done and will do for generations.
Now, these are the upcoming Disney+ Series which will be released in 2022.
