Day 19 is here! Only 6 days left until the big day! I hope you are all feeling super festive and having a fun month filled with fun Christmas movies and non-Christmas movies of course. Remember, West Side Story is out in theatres now.
However, for today's blog, I thought I would, following on from yesterday's blog post, rank from worst to best, the Spider-Man movies, from 2002 until 2021.

Spider-Man 3 (2007).
This is still such a great movie, and Tobey is so good in it, yet I feel like it is a little overcrowded with villains and parts of it felt a little rushed or not explored as deeply as I would like. This movie is still really fun, but I do think that it absolutely missed the mark with the direction they were intending to go down. The movie feels long and dragged out which leaves audiences with a few unanswered questions. However, none of this is Maguire's fault and he should be praised for the incredible work in this movie.
Spider-Man 2 (2004).
This is an incredible sequel and arguably improves on the original one. Yet, I don't feel like it is as much as a spectacle as the first one. I personally don't believe the bar was really raised that much higher than the first one, and that is kind of what you hope of from a sequel. Still, it is a great movie filled with emotional moments, great action scenes and a very clever villain.
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012).
My only major downfall with this movie is that it is incredibly similar to Tobey's previous movies. Andrew is absolutely outstanding in this movie and brings such a darkness to the role that we hadn't previously seen, but as I say, I don't think it is as original as it could be, which sometimes makes it feel slightly repetitive. However, the action scenes are great, filled with really fun and dangerous stunts. Also, Lizard may be my least favourite villain, so that could be why I don't enjoy this movie as much as I wish I did.
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017).
A really really great reboot from 2 previous franchises. The third instalment of this story would usually not be this good, but Tom Holland nails it, and is arguably the first and only actor to play Spider-Man that I truly fell in love with. It is a great addition to the MCU, but is also a really good stand-alone movie. The Vulture is a great villain as well. The story focussing on Spider-Man as an actual teenager was also an incredible way to reframe the Spider-Man franchise as his problems are much more based in reality.
Spider-Man (2002).
This movie will always be special to me. I remember watching it on VHS when I was younger, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. But, for a movie made 19 years ago, the graphics, plot and acting still holds today, which tells you just how amazing this movie is. Tobey Maguire is great in this, and he truly set the bar high for every potential Spider-Man who was to follow. I would also argue that Green Goblin in this movie is the best Spider-Man villain to date.
Spider-Man: Far From Home. (2019).
Not only is Jake Gyllenhaal in this movie (and everyone knows how much I love Gyllenhaal), and plays such a powerful role, but it truly felt like the MCU Spider-Man shifted in this to a much more mature and grown-up movie. The twist in this movie still shocks me even though I have seen this movie hundreds of times, and it fits perfectly in the timeline. This movie has advanced the MCU in such a special way.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014).
The relationship formed between Gwen and Peter in this movie is so incredibly powerful, and the ending is the most heart-wrenching moment of any Spider-Man movie. Thematically, this movie is phenomenal, and the constant recognition of time and how Gwen acknowledges that even Spider-Man will eventually run out of time, is such an important and powerful message. The action and CGI in this movie is also really good, and was a perfect way for Andrew to leave his trilogy.
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse (2018).
One of the most intelligent and well-thought out movies I have ever witnessed. The different art styles used are also so incredible and special, and they work really well together as a cohesive piece of work. The villains are also really really fun in this movie, and I can't wait to see what they do with the sequel. The music is also a stand-out of this movie. It just truly is an incredible movie, and I urge everyone to watch if they haven't already.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).
This definitely doesn't need explaining. Check out my review posted yesterday for my full review on why this is my all-time favourite Spider-Man movie.
